Body found in river may be Medford man
A body recovered from the Klamath River Sunday morning is suspected to be that of a Medford man who disappeared more than two months ago, an official said.
Ryan Finchum, 25, has been missing since June 3, 2010. His car and belongings were later found abandoned in a rugged area south of Klamath Falls near the California border.
Klamath and Jackson county sheriff's deputies on Saturday responded to a call of a person floating in the Klamath River just downstream from where Finchum's vehicle was found, said Andrea Carlson, spokeswoman for the Jackson County Sheriff's Department. Because of water conditions, recovery efforts were stalled until Sunday.
Klamath County coroners will perform an autopsy to positively determine the identity, Carlson said Sunday.
