B.C. man missing overnight discovered in good condition
An 82-year-old man from British Columbia who failed to return to a rental cottage in Ashland after a Friday night play at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival was found safe Saturday morning.
Vancouver resident John Desmond Montgomery, who reportedly suffers from short-term memory loss and dementia, failed to meet his wife and a friend at a rented cottage on Ashland's Oak Street after going to a play.
They reported him missing at about 11 p.m. Friday, Ashland police said in a news release.
Ashland police searched the city, but didn't find the man. At about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, the Jackson County Search and Rescue team was called out to help look for Montgomery.
The Ashland Community Emergency Response team also joined the search early Saturday morning.
The man was found in good condition just before 8 a.m. Saturday, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office reported. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
