Jacksonville man ID'd in fatal crash
The Jackson County Sheriff's Department has released the name of the man killed in a head-on collision on Upper Applegate Road Sunday afternoon.
Timothy Franklin, 47, of Jacksonville, died instantly when his 2001 Ford pickup was hit and rolled off the road, officials said in a news release Monday.
Franklin's truck and a 1997 Mercury Sable driven by Jamal Saleheen, 44, of White City, collided in the 2500 block of Upper Applegate Road at about 1:20 p.m. Sunday.
Saleheen received minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Providence Medford Medical Center. He had been released from the hospital by Monday, officials said.
Upper Applegate Road was closed for more than three hours while crews cleaned up the crash scene and investigated, the sheriff's office reported. Mercy Flights and Applegate Fire and Rescue also responded.
The investigation continues, officials said.
