MADGE seizes cocaine, pot and $10,000 in Medford home
Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement investigators arrested a man on North Keene Way Drive for allegedly selling cocaine and marijuana out of his home.
MADGE arrested Ernest Milton McKinney III, 23, on charges of distribution, manufacture and possession of cocaine, as well as manufacture and possession of marijuana after serving a search warrant at his house in the 700 block of North Keene Way Drive.
In addition, MADGE seized nearly $10,000 in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales, said MADGE Lt. Brett Johnson.
"We have been working this case for more than a month," Johnson said.
MADGE officers found 1.5 ounces of cocaine and 2.35 pounds of marijuana inside the home, along with drug sales records and packaging materials.
Two children lived at the house while the drug sales were occurring, Johnson said.
"Because the two children were present when the drugs were being sold, we charged McKinney with two counts of first-degree child neglect."
Johnson said child neglect is charged any time children are inside a home in which drugs are sold.
McKinney was lodged in the Jackson County Jail, where he remained late Wednesday on $75,000 bail.
