Fire calls

Structure fire — Medford Fire-Rescue took a report at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday of a structure fire in the 600 block of Northwood Drive, Medford. Five engines arrived to find a two-story townhouse on fire. Flames, ignited by a juvenile playing with matches and gasoline, spread up the back of the structure, burning into the first-story kitchen and through an open second-story window. Although flames scarred an outside wall of the home and a porch area, minimal fire damage was reported inside the home, though it did suffer serious smoke and water damage, a fire official said.
