Medford bank robbery suspect indicted on federal charges
The suspect in the September robbery of a Medford bank faces possible federal prison time under an indictment handed down last week.
Gerald Schram, 63, is charged with bank robbery under a federal grand jury indictment filed Nov. 10 in U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon.
Schram is accused of robbing the U.S. Bank on Court Street Sept. 24. Police said they arrested him at his home on Haven Street later that night after matching him to witness descriptions of the suspect.
Schram originally faced state-level charges of second-degree robbery and first-degree theft.
According to Jackson County Circuit Court records, those charges were dismissed Thursday and Schram was ordered released from the county's custody in light of the federal indictment.
