Be on the lookout for credit card snatching thieves
Medford police are warning holiday shoppers to be on the lookout for a pair of thieves who have already struck in Medford three times this year.
Investigators say the couple have dark complexions, are nicely dressed and in their early 30s. They drive a newer silver Ford Expedition with no license plates. They frequent the parking lots of fitness businesses. Surveillance photos can be seen above.
The couple steals credit cards from unattended wallets and purses, but leave cash untouched. They then use the swiped credit cards to go on a shopping spree. In the most recent case, reported Nov. 17, they racked up $8,000 in purchases on a woman's stolen card. Additional Medford cases were reported May 7 and June 12. The couple are also linked to additional thefts in Salem and Keizer from June.
