Man arrested in alleged theft of $4,000 worth of outdoor gear

Medford police Wednesday arrested a 53-year-old man suspected of stealing more than $4,000 worth of hunting and fishing equipment last week.

Police allege Richard Wadley sold a stolen Hoyt compound bow and Cabelas-brand trolling rod Dec. 10 to a local pawn shop. The bow and fishing rod had been stolen the day before in a vehicle break-in in the 1000 block of Sunset Avenue. Also stolen were two new Accurate fishing reels, seven other trolling rods and a Predator trail camera. The loss was valued at $4,100.

Police say they arrested Wadley Wednesday afternoon when he showed up at another pawn shop, allegedly to pawn more of the stolen property.
