State police disable pipe bomb on Table Rock Road
The Oregon State Police bomb squad disarmed a live pipe bomb Tuesday in the 5000 block of Table Rock Road.
According to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, deputies got a report of the device at about 1:44 p.m. Law enforcement blocked off Table Rock between Orr Drive and Bateman Road to create a 300-foot safety barrier, and the state police Arsons and Explosives Unit was called out to dispose of the device. According to the sheriff's news release, bomb technicians determined the device was live and capable of causing damage. It was disarmed without causing any damage to the surrounding area.
