Police seek person of interest in Klamath Falls homicide

Klamath County authorities are looking for a person of interest in a Tuesday morning death they suspect is a murder.

Investigators named Zachary Nathaniel Craig, 24, of Klamath Falls, as a person of interest in the death of Donald Clinton Black, 49, a news release from the Klamath County District Attorney said. The release did not say why Craig was named.

A 911 call reporting a murder in the 2000 block of Montelius Street of Klamath Falls came in to dispatchers at 2:14 a.m. Tuesday, the news release said. Black was found dead at the scene by the Klamath County Major Crime Team.

Craig is described as a white man with black hair and blue eyes. He is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds, officials said. Craig currently has an outstanding Klamath County arrest warrant for failing to appear in 2014 hit-and-run case. People are advised not to approach Craig and to call 911 if they see him.

Klamath Falls police also are looking for information about a light-colored vehicle seen driving from Montelius Street shortly after 2 a.m.

Investigators ask anyone with information to call the Klamath Falls Police Department at 541-883-5336 or the department's tip line at 541-883-5334.
