Man jailed on sex abuse charges
A Medford man is in Jackson County Jail on $500,000 bail facing a string of sex abuse charges involving a teenage girl.
Abel Pacheco-Carrillo, 47, faces charges including three counts of second-degree sexual abuse and two counts of third-degree sexual abuse.
The girl alleged that Pacheco-Carrillo had sexually abused her for at least three months. When she would not comply with his demands for sex, he would allegedly threaten to physically abuse a relative of the girl, according to an affidavit.
One of the alleged sexual acts was interrupted by a police officer responding to a call about sexual abuse, the affidavit said.
Pacheco-Carrillo also allegedly told the girl it would be her fault if he went to jail, the affidavit said.
