Court Appearance — Shelly Lynn Johnson, 49, of the 300 block of North Holly Street, Medford. On Tuesday, Johnson made her initial court appearance on a felony methamphetamine charge. Medford police Monday arrested Johnson on a methamphetamine possession charge and for parole violation on a previous methamphetamine possession charge. She remained in the Jackson County Jail Tuesday without bail.
Assault — Christopher Ryan Newby, 33, of the 400 block of East 12th Street, Medford. Medford police Monday arrested Newby on a felony charge of fourth-degree assault and misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree assault, strangulation and harassment. He was booked in the jail and released on his own recognizance.
Court Appearance — Juan Hernandez Mendez, 48, of the 200 block of North Lincoln Street, Merrill. On Tuesday Mendez made his initial court appearance on a felony charge of third-degree robbery and misdemeanor charges of third-degree theft and resisting arrest. He was booked in the jail and was released on his own recognizance after posting bail.
Sex Offender — Timothy Alan Phelps, 26, no known address. Central Point police Tuesday arrested Phelps on a felony charge of failure to register as a sex offender. He was lodged in jail Tuesday on $15,000 bail.
Robbery — Gage Steven Miller, 22, of the 1900 block of 24th Street, Florence. Jackson County Sheriff's deputies Tuesday arrested Miller on one felony charge of first-degree robbery and two felony charges of second-degree robbery. He was lodged in jail Tuesday on $1 million bail.
Drugs — Colleen Sue Cook, 37, no known address. Medford police Tuesday arrested Cook on felony charges of methamphetamine and heroin possession. She was lodged in jail Tuesday on $20,000 bail.
Burglary — Medford police responded to a residential burglary at 7:32 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of East Main Street, Medford. Suspect Jeremiah Jacob Hiscock, 28, was arrested on burglary, theft, criminal mischief and parole violation charges after he fell through a skylight. Vehicle keys and a pocket knife were recovered, but damage to the skylight and wall shingles was valued at $3,000.
Theft — Medford police took a report of shoplifting at 10:22 a.m. Monday in the 2300 block of Poplar Drive, Medford. Items reported stolen included a 13-inch Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display, and a 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro with Retina Display. The loss was valued at $3,300.
Vandalism — Medford police took a report of vandalism to a vehicle's passenger door at 9:37 p.m. Monday in the area of Stewart and South Columbus avenues, Medford. The damage was valued at $2,220.
Theft — Medford police took a report of a vehicle break-in and theft at 6:41 a.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of Yellowstone Avenue, Medford. A Pioneer car stereo system was reported stolen, and the vehicle's dashboard and driver's side window were reported damaged. The loss and damage was valued at $2,900.
Theft — Medford police took a report of an unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and theft at 6:42 a.m. Tuesday in the 1600 block of Skypark Drive, Medford. Items reported stolen included three Stihl MS460 chainsaws, one Stihl MS260 chainsaw, 12 spare chains, a ¾-inch arbor block, adjustable Loopie Slings, eight steel carabiners, a 5/8-inch arbor block and a steel arbor block. The loss was valued at $7,050.
Theft —Medford police took a report of a vehicle break-in and theft at 9:16 a.m. Tuesday in the 2000 block of Hospitality Way, Medford. A bag containing dental tools and equipment was reported stolen, and the vehicle's driver's side window was reported damaged. The loss and damage was valued at $4,850.
Vandalism —Medford police took a report of vandalism to a residence at 10:57 a.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of Flower Street, Medford. A home's door, door knob and fence were reported damaged. The damage was valued at $1,100.
Theft — Medford police took a report of theft from a motor vehicle at 11:16 a.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of Center Drive, Medford. Items reported stolen included chainsaw chains and a 32-inch bar. The loss was valued at $1,750
Theft — Medford police took a report of theft at 4:39 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of Mt. Pitt Avenue. Items reported stolen included miscellaneous crystal and white porcelain Christmas ornaments. The loss was valued at $2,500.
