Felony arrests

Drugs — Levar Christopher Handy, 24, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Handy Thursday on a felony charge of methamphetamine possession, and on failure to appear warrants on felony charges of meth possession and assaulting an officer, and failure to appear on misdemeanor charges of third-degree escape, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He was booked in the Jackson County Jail and released because of overcrowding.

Drugs — Joshua Christopher Mathewson, 29, no known address. Medford police arrested Mathewson Friday on felony charges of methamphetamine possession and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, misdemeanor charges of interfering with police and resisting arrest and on a failure to appear warrant on a charge of second-degree burglary. He was lodged in jail Friday without bail.

Drugs — Don Virgil Tumey, 30, of the 800 block of Broad Street, Medford. Medford police arrested Tumey Friday on a felony charge of heroin possession, misdemeanor charges of possessing a concealed knife, possessing a Schedule IV controlled substance, and of a failure to appear warrant on a misdemeanor charge of second-degree trespassing. He was booked in the jail and released on his own recognizance.

Robbery — Kimberly Sue Sanchez, 34, of the 300 block of Mowetza Drive, Ashland. Ashland police arrested Sanchez Friday on a felony charge of third-degree robbery and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest, interfering with police, harassment and disorderly conduct. She was booked in the jail and released on her own recognizance.

Drugs — Timothy Shawn Lair, 32, no known address. Medford police arrested Lair Friday on a felony charge of methamphetamine possession, a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, and on a warrant for failing to appear on a misdemeanor charge of contempt. He was lodged in jail Friday without bail.

Court Appearance — Dennis George Lagorio, 39, no known address. On Friday, Lagorio made his initial court appearance on a felony charge of methamphetamine possession. He was booked in the jail and released on his own recognizance.

Court Appearance — Raylene Anabelle Pineda, 20, of the 400 block of Mace Road, Medford.Pineda made her initial court appearance Friday on three felony counts of first-degree theft. She was booked in the jail and released on her own recognizance.

Drugs — Matthew Michael Andress, 31, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Andress Friday on a felony charge of methamphetamine possession, and for violating his parole on a previous conviction for felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance. He was lodged in jail Friday without bail.

Drugs — Valerie Valine Vargas, 32, no known address. Medford police arrested Vargas Friday on a felony warrant for methamphetamine possession. She was lodged in jail Friday on $15,000 bail.

Crime reports

Theft — Medford police took a report of a stolen gold ring at 2:27 p.m. Thursday in the 2100 block of Table Rock Road. The ring had five diamonds on a clover design. The loss was valued at $1,000.

Theft — Medford police took a report of a residential burglary at 6:22 p.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of Spring Street. Items reported stolen included a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone, two cherry wood jewelry boxes, five antique pocket watches, two sets of turquoise earrings, one set of diamond earrings with a diamond ring, a gold anklet and an antique pearl ring. The loss was valued at $2,528.

Vandalism — Medford police took a report of a vandalism to a vehicle at 9:31 a.m. Friday in the 1000 block of Terminal Loop Parkway. The vehicle's rear corner of its bumper was dented and scratched. The damage was valued at $1,000.
