Tuesday fire damages Shady Cove home
SHADY COVE — A Tuesday evening fire in Shady Cove heavily damaged a home and reportedly displaced four people.
Emergency dispatch first received notification about the incident, at a double-wide trailer in the 100 block of Train Lane, at about 6:30 p.m. Jackson County Fire District No. 3 officials said crews arrived on scene to find two-thirds of the home on fire. Four adults and several dogs had all made it outside without injury.
The fire had also spread from the home to some nearby grass, which ended up burning less than half an acre of terrain before it was snuffed, Oregon Department of Forestry officials said.
Crews from Fire District No. 3, Jackson County Fire District No. 4 and ODF responded to the scene. Crews had the flames knocked down by about 7:30 p.m. but remained on scene to make sure no hot spots reignited.
