Woman arrested in Klamath Falls murder
A 26-year-old woman has been arrested on charges of murder and abuse of a corpse in the Saturday death of a Klamath Falls man.
Klamath County District Attorney Rob Patridge said in a news release that Sheyanna Ray, 26, faces charges of murder, assault, abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence in the death of David L. White, 50. She was arrested Sunday by Redding police and is being held in the Shasta County Jail in Redding. Her extradition hearing is set for Tuesday.
The Klamath Falls Police Department received information about a homicide Saturday in the 2400 block of Orchard Avenue, the release said. Officers found White's body at the scene, and the Klamath County Major Crime Team has been activated.
Patridge's release did not give further details, such as how or when White died, a possible motive or how the victim and the suspect knew each other. A grand jury is set to hear the case later this week.
The Major Crime Team is requesting that anyone who may have information regarding the incident contact the Klamath Falls Police Department at 541-883-5336.
The agencies involved in the investigation are the Klamath Falls Police Department, Oregon State Police, Klamath County Community Corrections, Klamath County District Attorney's Office and the Redding Police Department.
