Woman accused of assaulting neighbor with police baton
A Central Point woman is facing criminal charges after allegedly hitting her neighbor with a police baton.
Robin Le Cours, 46, of the 3300 block of Randall Avenue pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of second-degree assault, fourth-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. She has a pretrial conference hearing scheduled for June 5 in Jackson County Circuit Court.
On April 7, Le Cours allegedly got into a fight with her neighbor over the neighbor being on Le Cours' property. She allegedly confronted the neighbor with a metal police baton and admitted to striking her with a police baton, according to a probable cause affidavit by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.
The woman was transported to Asante Rogue Regional Medical center for evaluation and treatment, the affidavit said.
Court records for Oregon show no previous criminal charges against either woman dating back at least to 2000.
