Pedestrian identified in fatal bus crash
Central Point police have identified the pedestrian killed early Thursday morning by a Greyhound bus as 25-year-old Hunter Maxwell Brown of Seattle.
Brown, riding the bus from Seattle to Southern California, returned late during a rest stop at the Pilot Travel Center in Central Point. Just before 1:30 a.m., Brown reportedly ran alongside the bus and banged on the door to get the driver's attention.
The male bus driver, who was not identified by police, said he noticed Brown and tried to stop for him. The driver told police he attempted to pull over along South Peninger Road to avoid traffic but lost sight of Brown.
