No injuries reported at Timber Products blaze

Fire crews from at least two agencies battled a fire at the Timber Products particleboard plant on McAndrews Road in Medford Tuesday evening.

No injuries were reported.

Medford Fire-Rescue supplied at least six engines including a ladder truck to attack flames that attacked a storage building. Jackson County Fire District 3 supplied two engines and a battalion chief to the efforts, according to Fire District 3 spokeswoman Ashley Blakely.

Though fire crews surrounded the facility Tuesday, other operations at the plant appeared to continue uninterrupted.

Fire District 3 also provided a water tender and another apparatus to the scene, but two extra engines were canceled. Blakely said that water tenders were turned away.

The fire was reported at 6:44 p.m. according to Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon reports. The fire was largely knocked down by 7:30 p.m., though mop-up was expected to last through the night.
