Felony arrests

Weapons — Victor Martin Vargas, 21, of the 15400 block of Butte Falls Highway, Eagle Point. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Vargas Monday on an additional felony charge of inmate in possession of a weapon. Jackson County sheriff's deputies originally arrested Vargas Nov. 29 on felony charges of attempting to elude police in a vehicle and assaulting a police officer, misdemeanor counts of reckless driving, resisting arrest, second-degree criminal mischief, recklessly endangering a highway worker, reckless endangering and possessing heroin, and for violating his probation on a prior heroin-possession conviction. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail Monday without bail.

Drugs — Michael Ross Pearce, 33, no known address. Medford police arrested Pearce Monday on additional felony charges of possessing methamphetamine and possessing heroin. He was originally arrested Saturday on a misdemeanor warrant for failing to appear in court on a prior heroin-possession charge and for violating his probation on a prior meth-possession conviction. He remained lodged in jail Monday without bail.

Burglary — Christopher Michael Harris, 33, of Yreka, California. Talent police arrested Harris Sunday on felony charges of first- and second-degree burglary and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was booked in the jail Sunday and released Monday on his own recognizance.

Burglary — Joshua Lee LaGrange, 32, no known address. Talent police arrested LaGrange Sunday on felony charges of first- and second-degree burglary, and on misdemeanor charges of felon in possession of a restricted weapon and possessing burglary tools. He remained lodged in jail Monday on $37,500 bail.

Drugs — Michael Jonathan Barrett, 43, no known address. Medford police arrested Barrett Monday on felony charges of delivering methamphetamine and heroin, possessing meth and heroin and on a misdemeanor count of felon in possession of a restricted weapon. He was booked in the jail and released Monday on his own recognizance.

Drugs — Anthony Darren Ross, 59, no known address. Medford police arrested Ross Monday on felony charges of possessing methamphetamine and heroin, and on a misdemeanor charge of felon in possession of a restricted weapon. He was lodged in jail Monday on $22,500 bail.

Assault — James Romain Swindler, 23, of the 400 block of Union Avenue, Medford. Medford police arrested Swindler Monday on a felony charge of fourth-degree assault. He was booked in the jail and released Monday after posting bail.

Drugs — Thomas Allen Geisenhaver, 54, of the 200 block of South Oakdale Avenue, Medford. Medford police arrested Geisenhaver Monday on a felony charge of possessing oxycodone, a misdemeanor warrant for failing to appear in court on a prior methamphetamine-possession charge and on out-of-county warrants for failing to appear on contempt of court charges. He was booked in the jail and released Monday on his own recognizance.

Vehicle Theft — Brooklynn Jane Hoy, 19, of the 500 block of Boardman Street, Medford. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Hoy Monday on a felony charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor charge of second-degree theft, and on misdemeanor warrants for failing to appear in court on previous charges of possessing methamphetamine, third-degree theft and second-degree trespassing. She was lodged in jail Monday on $23,000 bail.

Assault — Kimberly Elizabeth Gershman, 38, no known address. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Gershman Monday on a felony charge of fourth-degree assault, and on misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree assault, menacing and reckless endangering.  She was lodged in jail Monday on $22,500 bail.

Crime reports

Theft — 800 block of Posse Lane, Medford. Medford police took a report of theft from a building at 1:20 p.m. Sunday. A Samsung Galaxy S7 phone with purple and black case was reported stolen. The loss was valued at $800.

Vandalism — first block of South Columbus Avenue, Medford. Medford police took a report of vandalism to a vehicle door at 4:02 p.m. Sunday. The damage was valued at $400.

Burglary — 2400 block of Crater Lake Highway, Medford. Medford police took a report of burglary to a business at 9:00 a.m. Monday. Damage to a large glass pane on a business door was valued at $800.
