Vehicle of interest sought in drive-by homicide

Local report

Medford police are seeking the public's help locating the driver of a pickup witnessed in the west Medford neighborhood about the same time a man was gunned down outside his home.

The vehicle, captured on surveillance footage near the 300 block of Chestnut Street, is believed to be a maroon 1988 to 1993 Chevrolet or GMC full-size stepside pickup, according to Medford police. The vehicle is accented with a silver or gray stripe along the bottom.

Medford police have previously sought a dark-colored minivan in the shooting that killed Christian Miguel Barajas, 24, outside his house 5:39 p.m. Nov. 22.  Details such as the make, model and possible age of the vehicle have not been released.

Medford police detectives believe the pickup's occupants could have information beneficial to the investigation.
