Skimming device found in ATM
Anyone who used the ATM at Rogue Credit Union on Lithia Way in Ashland Tuesday or Wednesday should check with the bank to see if their account was compromised, Ashland Police announced Thursday after removing a skimming device from the ATM on Wednesday.
Security camera stills were released with images of two males believed to have information about the skimming device. Anyone recognizing either of the males, or with additional information about the investigation, is encouraged to call the Ashland Police Department at at 541-482-5211. You can also call the anonymous tip line at 541-552-2333 or email at email@example.com.
A skimmer discovered on the same ATM in October affected 19 customers, but no money was taken as it was discovered quickly, the bank said at the time.
Police recommend ATM users always inspect the card slot before inserting their ATM card to protect against skimming. If the fixture wiggles, or appears to be attached with glue, it may indicate a skimming device is attached.
