A woman arrested in Southern Oregon will face charges in Colorado alleging that she had sexual contact with a special needs high school student.
Central Point police arrested Michele Lea Flynn, 45, Monday night on a Colorado fugitive warrant “in connection with her relationship with a 17-year-old special needs student” in Thornton, Colorado, according to Jackson County Jail records and a press release issued Tuesday from the Colorado’s 17th Judicial District Attorney.
Flynn worked as an “educational paraprofessional” at Horizon High School in Thornton, Colorado, according to the Colorado press release. She faces a charge of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust on accusations she engaged in sexual contact with the child between the dates of Dec. 26 and Feb. 22.
Prosecutors in Colorado says that Flynn is awaiting an extradition hearing in Jackson County. As of Tuesday evening, no court appearances had yet been scheduled in Jackson County Circuit Court.
