Motel homicide victim stabbed multiple times

A California woman killed Friday in a Medford motel room was stabbed to death, according to autopsy findings released Tuesday by Medford police.

The Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office determined late Monday that Sierra Bree Clemens, 23, of Grass Valley, California, died of “multiple stab wounds” in the predawn hours Friday in her room at the Tiki Lodge, 509 N. Riverside Ave., according to a news release from Medford police.

Police responded to a “violent disturbance” at the motel at 4:38 a.m. Friday. About an hour later, a police dog found Justin Lee Graham-Yaeger, 33, hiding inside a Dumpster behind a business in the 500 block of North Bartlet Street. Graham-Yaeger was arrested and remains in the Jackson County Jail without bail on a murder charge.

Medford police Lt. Mike Budreau said police recovered the murder weapon, but he declined to provide details about the weapon or where investigators found it.

Medford police have not released any information about a motive in the murder.

Budreau declined to say Tuesday whether or how Clemens and Graham-Yaeger knew each other. Police said earlier they had ruled out domestic violence as a factor.

Budreau said the investigation is “largely complete,” pending a handful of forensic tests. Investigators will lay out their findings to a grand jury later this week.
