Ashland woman found dead near coast
An Ashland woman was found dead Wednesday at a state park in Lincoln County near a popular tourist attraction.
Leslie R. Lightfall, 68, of Ashland, was found in her car just before noon at the Otter Rock and Devils Punch Bowl state park, according to a release issued by Oregon State Police.
Police believe Lightfall had been sleeping in her Toyota Prius when she died of apparent natural causes.
Lightfall’s Prius had been parked at the park for approximately a week when parks staff contacted police, according to the release. Police confirmed the deceased woman as Lightfall after entering her vehicle.
Other agencies that assisted OSP included Ashland police, Napa, California, police, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Depoe Bay Fire and Rescue, and the Lincoln County District Attorney’s office.
