RV damaged in White City weekend fire
WHITE CITY — No one was injured in a Sunday night fire that caused heavy damage to an RV, Jackson County Fire District 3 reported.
Emergency dispatch received a call at 9:21 p.m. of a structure fire in the 2000 block of Avenue A in White City, records show. A second call came in while the first engines were en route to the blaze, Fire District 3 battalion chief Mike Hussey said.
The first crews on scene found the RV “about 50% involved,” Hussey said, adding that the flames were burning close to a home it was parked next to.
Everyone inside was able to exit safely, he said, though how many were home at the time was not immediately available. No pets were reported missing or injured.
Two fire engines from the fire district carrying six firefighters were able to knock down the flames in a matter of minutes, Hussey said. Firefighters did not have to evacuate any other homes.
“It didn’t extend to anything else,” Hussey said. “We had four (engines) responding, but once they got on scene, determined what they had, two returned.”
The fire’s cause was not immediately available.
