Man missing after falling into Rogue River
Jackson County Search and Rescue is scouring the Rogue River to find a local man who reportedly fell from a trail into the river.
Daryl Gene Johnson, 66, of Rogue River, is a missing person following a fall into the river Friday night outside Rogue River city limits, according to a Saturday evening post on the official Jackson County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
At 9:43 p.m. Friday, witnesses reported that that Johnson fell from a trail about 15 to 20 feet into the river near the river's confluence at East Evans Creek Road. Friends who were with Johnson last saw him Friday night attempting to swim in the water.
As of 5:30 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff's office said Search and Rescue volunteers were still searching for Johnson along the river.
