Highway 140 closed near White City after fatal crash
The Oregon Department of Transportation advises that motorists steer clear of Highway 140 following a crash outside White City.
The crash involving two vehicles was reported at 4:03 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 140 near the Crater Lake Highway intersection — about one mile east of the unincorporated area — according to an ODOT press release and Emergency Communications of Southern Oregon.
Further details surrounding the crash were not immediately available Wednesday afternoon, but OSP Capt. Tim Fox confirmed one fatality in the crash in an email shortly after 6:30 p.m.
ODOT said shortly after the crash that there would be a “lengthy closure” while Oregon State Police investigates the crash. As of Wednesday evening, traffic traffic was detoured along Antelope Road and Lakeview Drive, and ODOT warned of delays and congestion.
