Felony arrests

Drugs — David Michael Demello, 27, of the 600 block of Crowfoot Road, Trail. Medford police arrested Demello Sunday on a felony charge of possessing heroin and misdemeanor warrants for faiing to appear in court on previous charges of possessing methamphetamine and conspiring to unlawfully deliver a marijuana item. He was booked in the Jackson County Jail and released Sunday on his own recognizance.

Elude — Aaron Edward Frick, 43, of the 200 block of West Main Street, Eagle Point. Eagle Point police arrested Frick Sunday on a felony charge of attempting to elude police in a vehicle and on a misdemeanor charge of reckless driving. He was booked in the jail and released Sunday on his own recognizance.

Coercion — John Adam Rowden, 31, of the 1500 block of Kings Highway, Medford. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Rowden Sunday on a felony charge of coercion and on misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence, strangulation and harassment. He was booked in the jail and released Sunday.

Kidnapping — Erika Vanessa Soto, 32, of the 2700 block of West Stewart Avenue, Medford. Medford police arrested Soto Sunday on felony charges of second-degree kidnapping and coercion, and on misdemeanor charges of fourth-degree assault and harassment. She was held in jail Tuesday on $300,000 bail.

Forgery — Mark Baber, 48, of the 5200 block of Glen Echo Way, Central Point. Medford police arrested Baber Monday on two felony counts of first degree possessing a forged instrument. He was booked in the jail Monday and released as of Tuesday.

Burglary — Michael Caleb Baker, 34, no known address. Medford police arrested Baker Monday on felony charges of second-degree burglary and first-degree theft, and on a misdemeanor warrant for failing to appear in court on a previous charge of third-degree theft. He was booked in the jail and released Monday on his own recognizance.

Drugs — Timothy France, 42, of the 800 block of North Riverside Avenue, Medford. Medford police arrested France Monday on felony charges of possessing a substantial quantity of methamphetamine, possessing cocaine and oxycodone, a misdemeanor charge of providing false information to police and for violating his parole on a prior felon in possession of a firearm conviction. He was held in jail Tuesday without bail.

Elude — Brett Matthew Geoly, 45, of the 1000 block of B Street, Ashland. Ashland police arrested Geoly Monday on a felony charge of attempting to elude police in a vehicle and on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was booked in the jail Monday and released Tuesday on his own recognizance.

Mail Theft — John Joseph McKinley, 46, of the 200 block of North Grape Street, Medford. Medford police arrested McKinley Monday on a felony charge of mail theft. He was booked in the jail Monday and released as of Tuesday.

Aggravated Harassment — Aaya Skye Penalba-Ball, 21, of the 200 block of Tolman Creek Road, Ashland. Ashland police arrested Penalba-Ball Monday on a felony charge of aggravated harassment and on misdemeanor charges of attempted assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. Penalba-Ball was held in jail Tuesday on $37,500 bail.

Attempted Assault — Harley Dillon Peterson, 24, no known address. Medford police arrested Peterson Monday on a felony charge of attempted second-degree assault and for violating his parole on a prior second-degree robbery conviction. He was held in jail Tuesday without bail.

Murder — Brenden Rex Stansell, 20, no known address. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Stansell Tuesday on felony charges of second-degree murder and first-degree assault. He was held in jail Tuesday without bail.

Attempted Rape — Jorge Antonio Suarez-Urena, 24, of the 3400 block of Agate Meadows, White City. Central Point police arrested Suarez Monday on felony charges of attempted first-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary and fourth-degree assault, misdemeanor charges of strangulation, interfering with someone making a police report and second-degree criminal mischief. He was held in jail Tuesday on $152,500 bail.

Elude — Gabriel Francis Escobar, 37, of the 800 block of Aspen Drive, Medford. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Escobar Tuesday on a felony charge of attempting to elude police in a vehicle and on misdemeanor charges of interfering with a police officer, reckless driving and second-degree trespassing. He was booked in the jail Tuesday.

Arson — Vance Phuc Nguyen, 45, no known address. Medford police arrested Nguyen Tuesday on an additional felony charge of first-degree arson. Medford police originally arrested Nguyen Monday for violating his parole on a prior third-degree robbery conviction. He was held in jail Tuesday without bail.
