Injury sustained in deputy-involved shooting
One person is in the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a Wednesday night officer-involved shooting in White City.
Details about the person who was shot have not been released.
Jackson County sheriff’s deputies responded at 7:44 p.m. to the 2500 block of Agate Meadows at for reports of a “disorderly loud party” with more than 25 people inside the house, according to a news release.
Neighbors reported vehicles speeding away from the house and illegal parking in the area, the release said.
A deputy reported being involved in a shooting at 7:59 p.m. One person sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a medical facility for treatment. Police did not sustain any injuries.
The Jackson County Major Assault Death Investigation Unit is investigating the shooting.
