Teen suspected in Central Point robbery
A 15-year-old boy suspected in a Central Point 7-11 robbery that occurred Monday was arrested early Tuesday, according to Central Point police.
The juvenile was arrested at 1 a.m. at a home on Ross Lane just outside Medford city limits, according to a police press release. The teen, who police have declined to identify, was reportedly hiding at the home. He was lodged at Jackson County Juvenile Detention in Medford on a second-degree robbery charge.
Police responded Monday to the 7-11, at 345 S. Front St., for a report of an armed robbery. A male reportedly entered the store, claimed to have a gun and demanded money. After obtaining the cash, he fled in a vehicle that was waiting for him. No one was injured, and the 7-11 has since reopened for business.
Police are still investigating the involvement of three other juveniles who were reportedly in the getaway vehicle. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Central Point police at 541-664-5578.
