Controlled burn planned in Ashland Watershed Monday

Forestry crews will conduct a controlled burn Monday of debris piles in the Ashland Watershed along the U.S. Forest Service Road 2060-500 spur and Winburn Ridge, according to a news release.

There will be heavy smoke in the area, but no adjacent trails or roads will be closed. The watershed burn is the latest in a series intended to mitigate wildfire danger.

"This area is remote from popular trails, so we don't expect any recreation impacts," the release said.
