More Winburn Ridge pile burning scheduled for Wednesday

Forestry crews will continue controlled burns of debris piles along the U.S. Forest Service Road 2060-500 spur and Winburn Ridge Wednesday, according to a news release.

It's the third straight day of burning in the area, intended to mitigate fire danger in the Ashland Watershed.

There will be no road or trail closures, but the stretch of U.S. Forest Service Road 2060-500 will be impacted by heavy smoke. Smoke may be visible from parts of the Rogue Valley, but it should not drift into populated areas, officials said in the release.
