Drugs — Martin Jose Anema, 22, of the 200 block of Scenic Drive, Ashland. Oregon State Police troopers arrested Anema Wednesday on a felony charge of possessing cocaine and a misdemeanor charge of unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon. He was booked in the Jackson County Jail Wednesday and released Thursday on his own recognizance.
Aggravated Harassment — Kiowa Blues Baker, 25, of the 800 block of East Main Street, Ashland. Ashland police arrested Baker Wednesday on a felony charge of aggravated harassment, misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving and third-degree criminal mischief. He was held in jail Thursday on $50,000 bail.
Drugs — Sabrina Elaine Armell, 27, of the 700 block of North Riverside Avenue, Medford. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Armell Thursday on felony charges of delivering methamphetamine, suppling contraband, possessing heroin and meth, misdemeanor charges of possessing heroin and meth, and on a detainer for violating her parole on a prior heroin delivery conviction. She was held in jail Thursday on $75,000 bail.
Theft — Ryan Lee Bice, 34, of the 800 block of Cherry Street, Medford. On Thursday, Bice made an appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on a new felony charge of first-degree theft. Oregon State Police troopers and Jackson County sheriff’s deputies originally arrested Bice Jan. 20 on charges of first-degree forgery, first-degree possessing a forged instrument, possessing methamphetamine and for failing to appear in court on previous charges of aggravated first-degree theft, attempting to elude police in a vehicle, felon in possession of a firearm, possessing meth, first-degree forgery and first-degree theft. He remained held in the Jackson County Jail Thursdayon $137,500 bail.
Rape — James Butkevich, 57, of the 4700 block of Sterling Creek Road, Jacksonville. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Butkevich Thursday on felony warrants charging him with first-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse. He was held in jail Thursday on $500,000 bail.
Sex Offender — Joseph David Carrero, 33, no known address. Central Point police arrested Carrero Thursday on two felony counts of failing to report as a sex offender. He was held in jail Wednesday on $15,000 bail.
Burglary — Jovani Sanchez-Portillo, 35, no known address. Medford police arrested Sanchez-Portillo Thursday on new felony charges including five counts of first-degree burglary, five counts of first-degree theft and a new misdemeanor charge of second-degree theft. Medford police originally arrested Sachez-Portillo Feb. 21 on charges of first-degree theft, interfering with police and for violating his parole on a prior first-degree burglary conviction. He was held in jail Thursday without bail.
Drugs — Oscar Zaragoza, 23, of the 200 block of North Ross Lane, Medford. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies arrested Zaragoza Thursday on a felony charge of possessing methamphetamine. He was booked in the jail and released Thursday on his own recognizance.
