Victim identified in fatal Medford trailer fire
Police have determined that a fire that killed 74-year-old Nick John Titta Saturday in west Medford was accidental.
Titta was found Saturday evening inside a fifth-wheel RV trailer where he lived alone.
The fire was reported at 6:13 p.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of Kings Highway. Police said the trailer was “fully engulfed” by the time police and fire got on scene. First-responders found Titta’s body inside after the fire was contained.
An autopsy conducted Wednesday determined that Titta died of carbon monoxide poisoning due to smoke inhalation, according to police. Medical examiners determined Titta’s manner of death was accidental.
Fire investigators said the cause of the fire was “undetermined” this week, but police said they found no signs of foul play.
