Thousands of pot plants, six guns seized near Grants Pass
More than 30,000 plants that the Josephine County Marijuana Enforcement Team alleges were illegally grown were seized following a multi-agency raid outside Grants Pass city limits.
The Wednesday search warrant served in the 8000 block of Monument Drive turned up 30,673 plants and six firearms, according to a release issued Thursday by the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office and its marijuana enforcement unit.
The plants were seized and later destroyed, according to police.
Police also seized multiple water pumps, generators and heavy equipment.
Involved in the search were multiple state and local law enforcement agencies that included Oregon State Police, the Jackson County Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Team, the Oregon Department of Agriculture, the Josephine County Water Master and Josephine County Code Enforcement.
As of Thursday, authorities had detained 20 individuals “due to safety concerns,” but police have made no arrests and say the investigation behind the unlicensed grow operation is still ongoing.
