Kidnapping — Michael Shane Akers, 40, of the 2400 block of Roberts Road, Medford. Medford police arrested Akers Thursday on felony charges of second-degree kidnapping, coercion, fourth-degree assault constituting domestic violence, attempting to elude police in a vehicle and misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment of highway workers, recklessly endangering another person, attempting to elude police by foot and felon in possession of a restricted weapon. He was held in the Jackson County Jail Friday on $100,000 bail.
Officer Assault — Stephvon Jamar O’Brian Collins, 29, of the 2100 block of Roberts Road, Medford. On Friday, Collins made an appearance in Jackson County Circuit Court on felony charge of assaulting a police officer and aggravated harassment, misdemeanor charges of unlawfully possessing methamphetamine, felon in possession of a restricted weapon, menacing, second-degree disorderly conduct, second-degree trespassing, theft of services and resisting arrest. He was held in jail Friday on $23,000 bail.
Theft — Kyle Wayne Crandell, 30, of the 400 block of Flower Street, Medford. On Friday, Crandell made a court appearance on 11 new felony counts of first-degree theft and four new misdemeanor counts of second-degree theft. Medford police originally arrested Crandell June 26 on earlier charges of first-degree theft, felon in possession of a firearm, altering or obliterating firearm identification numbers, heroin possession, unlawfully entering a motor vehicle and interfering with police. He was held in jail Friday on $205,000 bail.
