Motorcyclist killed in Highway 99 crash near Medford
A Grants Pass man was killed Thursday evening in a crash during rush hour that temporarily closed North Pacific Highway between Medford and Central Point.
Alexander Allen, 44, was driving a Buell motorcycle when he was struck by a Subaru Legacy at 6:06 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Highway 99 and Elk Street, according to Oregon State Police.
Allen was northbound on Highway 99 when the Subaru, driven by Nicholas Dent, 39, of Central Point, turned left onto Elk Street and collided with Allen.
Allen died at the scene of the crash, according to police. Dent was uninjured.
When asked whether any arrests or citations were made, OSP Capt. Tim Fox said the crash is still under investigation.
