Drivers injured in Redwood Highway crash near Selma
Two individuals were sent to the hospital following a Redwood Highway head-on crash about three miles south of Selma.
The crash involving a Nissan sedan and a Jaguar X-Type sedan, was first reported at 12:05 p.m. Thursday on Highway 199 about half a mile north of milepost 23, according to a release issued by the Illinois Valley Fire District.
Drivers of both cars were transported by AMR ambulance to Asante Three Rivers Medical Center, where they were treated for moderate injuries, according to the fire department.
First responders — including those from the fire department, AMR, the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police and the Oregon Department of Transportation — found the roadway just south of the Gold Canyon Drive intersection entirebly blocked after the crash.
ODOT crews were able to open the roadway to one lane that afternoon, and the roadway has since been cleared.
