Felony arrests

Drugs — Christopher Alexander Dewoody, 41, of the 8300 block of Old Stage Road, Central Point. He was arrested by Medford Police Wednesday for unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, unlawful manufacture of amphetamine, unlawful possession of more than one ounce of methamphetamine, unlawful manufacture of heroin, unlawful delivery of heroin and unlawful possession of heroin. Dewoody is being held in the Jackson County Jail on $1.0575 million bail.

Sex offenses — Joseph Richard Balsz, 35, of Meadow Lane, Shady Cove. He was arrested by Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies Tuesday for first-degree sexual penetration, six counts of first-degree sexual abuse and attempted sodomy. Balsz is being held in the Jackson County Jail on $500,000 bail.

Drugs — Chad Jacob Cahoe, 27, of the 200 block of Sunrise Avenue, Medford. He was arrested by Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday for unlawful possession of heroin and misdemeanor charges for unlawful possession of methamphetamine, giving false information to a peace officer and two counts of interfering with a peace, parole or probation officer. Cahoe is being held in the Jackson County Jail on $40,000 bail.

Sex offenses — Donald Phillip Carling, 32, of the 700 block of Church Street, Medford. He was charged through the Jackson County Circuit Court for two counts of attempted first-degree sexual abuse. Carling is being held in the Jackson County Jail without bail.

Failures to appear — Douglas Arthur Hackett, 35, of the 3000 block of Avenue G, White City. He was arrested by Medford Police Tuesday for a variety of failures to appear, including first-degree theft, first-degree forgery, identity theft and two counts of second-degree burglary. Additional charges were added by Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies for second-degree burglary, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and possession of a stolen vehicle. Hackett is being held in the Jackson County Jail on $80,000 bail.

Probation violation — Kenneth James Hawk, 39, no reported address. He had a probation violation, fourth-degree felony assault pertaining to domestic violence, added Wednesday after his initial arrest on Oct. 6 for first-degree burglary and three counts of strangulation pertaining to domestic abuse. He is being held in the Jackson County Jail without bail.

Warrant — Randy Orion Mena, 38, of the 300 block of Ross Lane, Medford. He was arrested by Oregon State Police Wednesday for a warrant issued by Clackamas County and a misdemeanor failure to appear for providing false information to a peace officer. Mena is being held in Jackson County Jail on $10,000 bail.

Failures to appear — Raymond James Morris, 34, of the 400 block of Oak Street, Medford. He was arrested by Medford Police Monday for failures to appear pertaining to an unlawful delivery of heroin, unlawful possession of heroin and a probation violation, first-degree theft as well as a misdemeanor failure to appear charge of providing false information to a peace officer. Morris was released on his own recognizance.
