Felony arrests

Second-degree murder — David Allen Karnes, 54, of the 3300 block of Little Applegate Road, Jacksonville. He was arrested Friday for second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Karnes is under medical care at local hospital for a self-inflicted firearm wound that occurred after he allegedly killed his wife, Constance Maria Murphy, 54, early Wednesday.

Drugs — Michael Shane Akers, 40, of the 2400 block of Roberts Road, Medford. He was charged by Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Friday for unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of heroin, unlawful delivery of a marijuana item, unlawful possession of a marijuana item by someone older than 21, criminal possession of a forged instrument, and two counts of being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon. He has been in the Jackson County Jail for various charges since Sept. 20 and is being held for $925,000 bail.

Theft —Jessie Samuel Arguelles, 31 of no reported address, Medford. He was arrested by Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday for first-degree theft as well as misdemeanor charges. Arguelles is being held in the Jackson County Jail for $15,000 bail.

Suspended license — Nicholle Rachelle Compton, 38, of the 1200 block of Maple Park Drive, Medford. She was arrested by Talent Police Thursday for driving with a suspended or revoked license. Compton was released on her own recognizance.

Drugs — Tracy Kathleen Hannah, 49, of the 1900 block of Home View Drive, Medford. She was arrested by Medford Police Friday for unlawful possession of heroin and a warrant issued by Josephine County as well as misdemeanors. Hannah is being held in the Jackson County Jail for $68,000 bail.

Drugs — Ricky Martin Huerta, 27, of the 4200 block of Crest View Drive, Eureka, California. He was arrested by Oregon State Police Friday for unlawful possession of a marijuana item by someone older than age 21 and unlawful manufacture of a marijuana item. He is being held in the Jackson County Jail for $15,000 bail.
