Central Point house searched for child porn

JCSO photo Members of the Southern Oregon Child Exploitation Team searched a house Tuesday in Central Point as part of a child pornography investigation.

The Southern Oregon Child Exploitation Team, along with Central Point police, searched a house Tuesday morning on the 500 block of Briarwood Drive in Central Point, according to a press release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said they suspected that numerous images of child pornography had been uploaded from the residence, and they were interviewing possible witnesses and involved parties, the release said.

The investigation reportedly began with a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the release said. Digital devices were seized and will be examined by the Southern Oregon High-Tech Crimes Task Force for evidence of child exploitation, the release said.
