Grants Pass police arrest man for online sex talk with teen
Grants Pass police arrested a man Thursday for allegedly having sexual conversations online with a 14-year-old girl.
Bill Huffman, 60, of Grants Pass, was arrested for luring a minor and second-degree online sexual corruption of a child, according to a news release. Police also reported that the suspect had violated probation for a previous conviction for attempted first-degree sexual abuse.
Huffman was being held in the Josephine County Jail on $250,000 bail.
The police investigation began Dec. 6 after receiving a report that a man was allegedly having sexual conversations online with a teenage girl, the release said. The conversation was provided to police, and Grants Pass detectives contacted Huffman at his place of employment and seized several cellphones.
Police reminded parents to carefully monitor the activity of their children on social media and explain to them the dangers of communicating with people they don’t know.
