Police search for armed man near Cantrall Buckley Park

Anthony Ross Minneci

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office put out an alert Friday afternoon saying an armed suspect had been seen in the area of Cantrall Buckley County Park near Ruch and warning local residents to lock their doors.

The suspect, Anthony Ross Minneci, 33, should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police.

Minneci was last seen Friday wearing a green bomber-style jacket in the area of Cantrall Buckley, police said.

Minneci allegedly stole a vehicle and was chased by Medford police Thursday night. He crashed the vehicle near Cantrall Buckley County Park, fled on foot and was not located.

JCSO was searching Friday with police dogs and a search-and-rescue drone, according to the alert.

Minneci is wanted on warrants accusing him of engaging police in “numerous vehicle pursuits recently,” according to a news release issued Monday by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Minneci also has outstanding warrants stemming from multiple felony drug cases dating to 2019, police said.

“We do not believe he is a threat to the general public at this time, but if you live in the area make sure to be cautious and keep houses, outbuildings and vehicles locked,” the sheriff’s office alert said.

Anyone who spots Minneci should not approach or attempt to apprehend him. Instead call dispatch at 541-776-7206, the sheriff’s office said.
