Grants Pass man allegedly destroyed property at Planned Parenthood
A Grants Pass man faces federal and state charges after allegedly breaking windows and destroying property on two occasions at the Planned Parenthood Health Center on the 100 block of NW Franklin Boulevard in Grants Pass.
Devin Friedrick Kruse, 26, allegedly acted against the clinic because it provides reproductive health services, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Kruse has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, also known as FACE.
On Nov. 23, Kruse is alleged to have intentionally broken security cameras and a window at the Planned Parenthood clinic. He allegedly returned three days later, Nov. 26, and he threw a concrete block through a window at the clinic and tore down the clinic’s intercom system, according to court documents.
Kruse is scheduled to appear in federal court March 14. He also has two cases in Josephine County Circuit Court from the clinic incidents, with charges of first-degree criminal mischief, a felony, and second-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.
A third case was filed in Circuit Court against Kruse, charging him with second-degree criminal mischief after having allegedly damaged property Dec. 1, in a room at Asante Three Rivers Medical Center.
Kruse was charged with first-degree arson and first-degree criminal mischief, both felonies, in Jackson County Circuit Court for a property damage incident in June 2018 at the Rogue Valley Transportation District in Medford. The charges were dismissed after Kruse completed his time in specialty courts in 2020, court records stated.
