Williams man arrested for bank robbery in GP
Grants Pass police arrested a man Tuesday for allegedly robbing a bank — just seven minutes after bank employees called 911.
Employees of Key Bank, in the 1600 block of Williams Way, said the bank had been robbed by a man wearing a mask and hat. The robber was said to have been armed and seen near a Walgreens in the 100 block of Union Avenue, so police set up a perimeter and began to search.
Police spotted a suspect vehicle traveling south on Allen Creek Road shortly after the 911 call, and the vehicle went down Denton Trail, a dead-end road, according to a press release.
The vehicle's sole occupant, Bradley Erichsen, 46, of Williams, was taken into custody without incident. Police said only about seven minutes elapsed from when the 911 call was made to Erichsen being apprehended.
Erichsen was being held in the Josephine County Jail on charges of second-degree robbery and first-degree theft. He was scheduled Wednesday for arraignment in Josephine County Circuit Court.
