Pedestrian killed in crash on Table Rock Road

A thoroughfare between Medford and Central Point is temporarily closed while police investigate a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

At about 6 a.m. Thursday, a pedestrian was struck and killed on Table Rock road near the Hamrick Road intersection, according to a release issued by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

As of about 8:15 a.m., Table Rock Road is closed between Airport and Biddle roads while the county’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction team investigates the crash. The Jackson County STAR team draws on resources from the sheriff’s office and Medford police, among other law enforcement agencies.

Police say that drivers are cooperating with law enforcement in the crash investigation, and that they will identify the victim after next of kin have been notified.

Table Rock Road is expected to reopen about 1 p.m., according to a release from Jackson County Roads.
