White City house fire under investigation

The cause of a structure fire Friday morning in the 2600 block of Terrmont Street in White City remains under investigation, according to Jackson County Fire District No. 3.

Personnel from the Medford Fire Department assisted the district in putting out the fire, which was reported at 10:50 a.m. About 18 employees from the two departments converged on the fire, including a battalion chief from each of the agencies.

No injuries were reported.

The fire started outside of the single-family home and was stopped in the attic by firefighters. They needed to cut through the roof to reach a portion of the fire hidden from view, said District 3 Battalion Chief Bryan Cohee.

Calls for service requiring multiple engines near the border of District 3 and Medford Fire-Rescue boundaries are routinely met with mutual response from both agencies.

In this situation, three of the four crews were from District 3 and one was from Medford, Cohee noted.
