Felony arrests

Second-degree attempted murder – Michael Anthony Padilla Jr., 34, no reported address. He was arrested by Medford police Tuesday for second-degree attempted murder, one count each of first-degree and second-degree assault, two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, unlawful use of a weapon, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Padilla is being held in the Jackson County Jail for $750,000 bail.

Sexual abuse – Evan Martin Brewer, 18, of the 100 block of Eagle View, Eagle Point. He was arrested by Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday for first-degree sexual abuse and one count each of second-degree rape, sodomy and sexual penetration. No bail information was available.

Burglary – Tommy Lee Alan Forsythe, 28, of the 400 block of Lozier Lane, Medford. He was charged by the Jackson County Circuit Court Wednesday for second-degree burglary and misdemeanors after being arrested by Medford Police for a misdemeanor and parole violation. Forsythe is being held without bail in the Jackson County Jail.

Burglary – Richard Lopaka Metcalf, 63, of the 100 block of East Pine Street, Central Point. He was arrested by Central Point Police Wednesday for second-degree burglary and misdemeanors. Metcalf was released on his own recognizance.

Identity theft – Katelynn Elois Whipps, 32, of the 6500 block of Kentucky Drive, Central Point. She was arrested by Medford Police Wednesday for identity theft and attempting to elude police by vehicle as well as for failing to appear for these charges: mail theft, unlawful possession of heroin and a warrant issued in Josephine County. Whipps is being held in the Jackson County Jail for $101,540 bail.
