Crews respond to Medford apartment fire

A unit of an apartment at 1773 Crater Lake Ave. in Medford was burned Thursday night.

No one was injured, according to the Medford Fire Department.

The initial report came in at 9:23 p.m. that people were trapped inside, however they were instead trying to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the single apartment unit located on the second floor.

Five fire engines, one ladder truck, an ambulance and three chiefs -- two battalion chiefs and Fire Chief Eric Thompson -- were working at the fire.

Cause of the fire is under investigation, Thompson said.
