Felony arrests

Not reporting as a sex offender — Curtis Paul Matthews, 63, of no reported address, Medford. He was arrested by Medford police Wednesday for failing to report as a sex offender, a misdemeanor and an out-of-county warrant. Matthews was released on his own recognizance.

Drugs — Aaron Edward Pratt, 53, of the 300 block of Debarr Avenue, Medford. He was arrested by Medford police Thursday for unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, unlawful manufacture of a Schedule II controlled substance, and one count each for attempting to deliver methamphetamine and a Schedule II controlled substance as well as a parole violation. Pratt is being held without bail in the Jackson County Jail.

Warrant — Jonathan Blain Standridge, 40, of the 1100 block of Tolman Creek Road, Ashland. He was arrested by Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday for a fugitive warrant issued in California. Standridge is being held without bail in the Jackson County Jail.

Possessing stolen vehicle — Christopher James Stayton, 50, of the 200 block of Via Linda Circle, Gold Hill. He was arrested by Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies Thursday for possession of a stolen motor vehicle. No bail information was available.

Drugs — Victor Martin Vargas, 26, of the 900 block of Alta Avenue, Medford. He was charged by the Jackson County Circuit Court for two counts of unlawful possession of heroin, one count each of unlawful manufacture and delivery of heroin, two counts of unlawful possession of methamphetamine, one count each of unlawful delivery and manufacture of methamphetamine, being a felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of prohibited firearms or silencers. Vargas is being held without bail in the Jackson County Jail for an earlier parole violation.

Not reporting as a sex offender — James William Wood, 37, of no reported address. He was arrested by Central Point police for failing to report as a sex offender, for failing to appear for not reporting as a sex offender and a misdemeanor. Wood was released on his own recognizance.
